How does the UK school system work?

Students sit the 11+ examinations and enter school at Year 7 or the 13+ to enter school in year 9

At the end of Year 11, the students sit national exams called GCSEs

At the end of Year 12 / beginning of Year 13, the student applies for Universities

At the end of Year 13 the student sits national exams called A-Levels

How does CamTuition select tutors?

We use a range of tutors who have all achieved the highest academic performance in exams. We look at performance at GCSEs, A-Levels and University performance if they are at Uni. Some of our students are still doing their A-levels or GCSEs and are not yet at University, but we have worked extensively with them in the past and can attest to their academic and teaching ability

After a tutor submits an application to work for CamTuition and they are then interviewed to assess their knowledge and teaching ability. Successful applicants are extensively trained to meet the highest of teaching standards

We will not hire tutors who do not demonstrate a track record of outstanding academic performance and strong ability to teach

Are extracurricular activities important?

Yes, although academic performance is the priority, sport and music will differentiate your child from other similar performers. For example, if your child gets waitlisted, the school will consider performance in music and sport as a differentiating factor
