A selective entrance exam used in the UK for admission to certain secondary schools, CamTuition will walk you through every stage of the 11+ exam from choosing the school to filling out the relevant forms for admission so there's nothing you have to worry about with regard to the process.
When is the 11+ exam?
Typically last few months of the year so October/November depending on the year.
How many students have you gotten through the exam/what is your success rate?
We have a 100% success rate in getting pupils on one of our bundles into a secondary school after either 11+ or 13+ entry
What is the application process like for 11+?
CamTuition will work with you and your child to select up to 7 schools based on your child's academic profile and preferences
Parents will need to register for the 11+ in the summer of year 5 (exact dates vary depending on school) and the exams will take place from anytime from September - December
Some London schools have formed a consortium, so that your child will only have to sit 1 exam which will gain entry to multiple schools
After passing the exam the child will be invited for an interview where they may face a range of questions on topics such as current affairs, family, reading, school, academics, extra-curricular
How does the programme work with CamTuition?
Submit pre-application form which will ask basic details such as Name, Age, School, Target Exam and dates etc
Sign up to our 11+ or 13+ packages
CamTuition will send you a "baselining" assessment to assess your child's strengths and weaknesses and allow us to tailor the programme to their specific weaknesses
The first session will include a short introduction and the following sessions will follow a programme specifically designed for your child. See our example lesson overview(will vary for each child)
After each session, CamTuition will send homework materials from our proprietary database to be completed before the next lesson. The homework material will include topics covered in the session as well as revision material from previous sessions
There will be a progress assessment halfway through the programme to assess your child's performance and adjust how we spend the remaining hours
After the child has sat the exams, there will be 3-5 sessions dedicated to interview preparation
What does a typical lesson look like?
The start of the lesson will include going over homework questions, especially incorrect answers and more challenging homework questions
The tutor will then teach a new topic and go over some easy medium and hard examples
There is flexibility to deviate from this depending on what the child struggles with
How many hours of support will my child get and in what areas?
Our 11+ package offers 50 hours of support across English, Maths, Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning
Approx. 25 hours of English, 10 hours of maths, 5 hours of NVR, 5 hours VR and 5hours interview prep. This will vary for each child
How much does each package cost?
Our 11+ package cost £4,000 and our 13+ package costs £6,000 but both are subject to discounts in the case of a successful referral*
Bespoke packages can be arranged but cost more on an hourly basis
How does the money back guarantee work?
If your child does not get into any of the schools that are selected in conjunction with CamTuition, we will offer 10 hours free tuition for their next round of applications, targeting their weakest areas
The guarantee is subject to your child achieving a B1 in English at the start of the programme and completing all homework materials set by the tutor. Previous homework questions will be used on our interim progress assessment and we expect your child to score 95%+ on these questions, as they should have already completed these in homework
We reserve the right to see evidence of B1 English (certificate) dated at the start of the programme
Can I book individual lessons instead of a package?
CamTuition strongly recommends that students book a package which covers the entire syllabus, and a lesson plan focusing on the child's weaknesses. Booking a package also gives access to our exclusive and extensive practice and homework materials
However, CamTuition offers individual lessons for parents who do not want the full package. A minimum booking of 3 lessons is required, and pricing is £100 per hour
These sessions can cover any specific areas you want help with
What if I book a package, but want more lessons?
We find that 50 hours of tuition is sufficient for most students. However, for clients requesting more intense tuition, bespoke packages are available upon request
We can set up a phone call to discuss your requirements and how we can meet these
Are there any fees associated with the 11+ exam or school applications and how much can we expect to pay in fees?
Depending on the school and whether your child will be boarding or not you can expect to pay upwards of 15,000 GBP to attend a UK school as an international student and potentially upwards of 30,000 depending on the school (emphasize the possibility that it could be as low as 15,000 and we can choose a school that lies on the lower end for international students that is also easy to get into thereby killing two birds).
Application fees can range from £100-400 per application
